The Auxiliary Nurse & Midwife (ANM) course is a two-year diploma course that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of nursing care and basic medical sciences. ANM nurses are trained to work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and community health centers.
ANM is Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery and is a diploma programme that focuses on the study of human health. Furthermore, candidates are taught about Operation Theatre, its operation, various types of equipment, and how to use them while taking the ANM course.
The primary goal of the ANM Nursing course is to prepare individuals to work as basic health professionals in society, providing care to children, mothers, and the elderly.
ANM Course Details

ANM Course Selection Criteria

The ANM qualification can vary by country and institution, but here are some general eligibility requirements:
- The minimum age of the candidate should be 17 years on or before 31st December in the year in which admission is sought
- The maximum age of the candidate should not exceed more than 35 years
- The candidate should have passed the Class 12 examination having Arts or Commerce stream (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, and Philosophy) and EnglishCore/English Elective or Science or Health care Science - Vocational stream from a recognized Board.
- The candidate should be medically fit and might have to provide a certificate declaring the same
- Candidates who should have passed class 12 from the Arts or Science stream conducted by the National Institute of Open School are also eligible.
- The candidate should be admitted once a year
